Jewellery Care
If you are continuously wearing your Get The Luxe jewellery, firstly thank you so much for repping our products! :) But please also take into account the following information.
The jewellery we supply is either sterling silver, stainless steel or platinum plated, with the exception of some costume jewellery which will be marked as copper or brass. We use a wide selection of metals so that we can cater for a wider price point.
Items marked copper or brass need to be cared for properly and will tarnish over time if correct care instructions are not followed. This jewellery can also discolor over time with long term wear and if it comes into contact with certain chemicals. This does not mean that the item is faulty.
Oxidisation can occur with any jewellery, especially when in contact with moisture or certain chemicals. Some oils in the skin can also cause certain metals to oxidise more quickly. Again, this is not a fault and sometimes cannot be avoided if using the items daily or without following proper care instructions.
Sterling silver items are less likely to tarnish, however they are also made of some copper and when the 925 plating comes into contact with chemicals it can reveal the under layer and cause it to tarnish. This is classed as wear and tear and is not a fault.
Please read care instructions below for different types of metals.
